12/5/2023 0 Comments Trailer vox machina![]() ![]() ![]() Anything goes in The Legend of Vox Machina, just like in the highly successful show, Critical Role. Humorous surprises, heartfelt storylines, all backed up by the real-life friendship that these collaborators have for one another, which is just contagious. I was laughing out loud when an unexpected game of ball tag broke out amongst Grog and Vax which concluded fantastically with a single powerful punch to nuts of Grog, while Vax was delivering a speech about dignity, so good! This for me I believe this foreshadows where the narrative path is taking us. I thought that the animation was very well done and fit the visual direction which fit the story’s direction! While I did find the first episode to be a bit slower paced than the rest, I was very pleased when things quickly took off in the following two episodes and I became invested in the characters journey. The comedy is fun and full of energy and thankfully, even a bit raunchy at times (thanks Scanlan). I found the main characters of Vox Machina to be edgy, heartfelt, and quick witted. Except this time, we don’t see one-dimensional campy characters geared at children but instead the creators of Critical Role, bring us the well needed Red-Band adult version. The Legend of Vox Machina opens a genre for me that haven’t seen on television since the 1983 cartoon, Dungeons and Dragons. Imagine the Lord of the Rings with raunchy college humor and you are sure to come close to The Legend of Vox Machina. The show is a hit to the Critters that backed it and i'm sure it's going to be a hit with adults everywhere. The music is incredible, and the bard Scanlan Shorthalt's songs are hilarious, weird, silly, and bawdy. The art animation is amazing and is the best work the studio of Titmouse has ever done. The legend of Vox Machina takes place on an imaginary world called Tal Dorei which is full of magic and high fantasy. The show is hilarious, fun, silly, bawdy, cute, rude, yet wholesome all at the same time. Three years later The Legend of Vox Machina is reality. They started a kickstarter campaign and raised over 11 million dollars making it the most successful kickstarter campaign ever. All of these players and GM were professional working voice actors and they wanted to bring their vision of their show into the reality of a Adult Animation featuring their storyworld created by Matt Mercer, their story created by Matt Mercer and how their character's each individually reacted to the situations that Matt placed them in. That's more people than a Football stadium in the USA. The show started as a Twitch live Dungeons and Dragons campaign where some nerdy voice actors and their Dungeon Master Matt Mercer drew in weekly audiences of over 40 thousand people on a Thursday night.
